Cross Keyboard ("the App" or "we") values your privacy and data security. This policy explains how we collect, use, store, share, and protect your personal information, as well as the rights you may exercise. Please read this policy carefully before using the App or its features. If you do not agree with this policy, please do not use the related features.
1. Scope of Application
This policy applies to all features and services provided by the App on mobile devices (including keyboard extensions), as well as data generated when you interact with our servers or third-party services through the App. The privacy practices of third-party services (such as speech recognition providers, analytics, and crash reporting services) are governed by their own privacy policies.
2. Types of Information We Collect
1) Device and Log Information: Device model, system version, app version, IP address, error logs, and performance data, used for troubleshooting and product improvement.
2) Account and Identity Information: Username, email, avatar, etc., that you may provide when creating an account or logging in, used for account management and identity verification.
3) Keyboard Settings and Custom Data: Custom phrases, frequently used word libraries, keyboard layouts, etc., saved locally by default; you may choose to upload them to our servers for backup and cross-device sync when enabling cloud sync.
4) Voice and Speech Recognition Results: Microphone audio is collected only when you enable voice input and grant authorization; speech recognition may be performed locally, or audio/recognition results may be uploaded to trusted third-party service providers when you choose cloud recognition (with your explicit consent before upload).
5) Anonymous Analytics Data: De-identified data used for statistics and product optimization, such as feature usage frequency, click counts, and crash rates.
3. Permissions Usage
- Microphone: Used for voice input functionality, requested only when you explicitly authorize and enable voice input.
- Speech Recognition: Used to convert audio into text suggestions.
- Network Access (Internet / Full Access): Used for cloud-based candidate words, AI suggestions, sync, updates, and crash/performance data reporting.
About "Full Access": iOS keyboard extensions prompt to allow full access. Without full access enabled, the keyboard only provides basic functionality locally; if you enable it and choose cloud services, we may use desensitized input context for cloud processing and candidate word optimization with your consent.
4. How Information Is Used
- Provide and maintain core functionality (input, candidate words, speech recognition, etc.).
- Provide personalization and sync services (with your consent).
- Monitor and improve product performance (analytics, crash reporting).
- Comply with legal obligations and protect platform and user security.
5. Information Sharing and Third-Party Services
To provide services, we may share necessary information with third parties such as: speech recognition service providers, cloud storage/database service providers, analytics and crash reporting platforms, and payment service providers. We sign contracts with these partners requiring them to process data only for the agreed purposes and to take reasonable security measures.
6. International Transfer and Storage
If data needs to be stored or processed outside your country to provide services, we will take necessary compliance measures within the scope permitted by law and inform users in a prominent location (e.g., in privacy settings or service descriptions).
7. Data Retention Period
We retain personal information only for the period necessary to fulfill the processing purposes, or for longer periods as required by law, regulation, or dispute resolution needs. Anonymized data may be retained long-term for statistics and improvement.
8. Data Security Measures
We employ technical and management measures including transport layer encryption (HTTPS/TLS), access controls, principle of least privilege, and regular security assessments. However, please note that no method of electronic transmission or storage can guarantee absolute security.
9. Sensitive Information We Do Not Collect
Unless explicitly authorized by you in specific features (and indicated through system permissions or explicit consent), we do not actively collect sensitive personal information such as contacts, photos, or precise location.
10. User Rights and How to Exercise Them
Under applicable legal frameworks, you may request access to, correction, deletion, or export of data we hold that relates to you, or withdraw consent you have given. To exercise these rights, please send an email to support@crosskeyboard.com, and we will respond and provide support within a reasonable time.
11. Protection of Minors
The App is not intended for children under 13 years of age. If we discover that children's information has been collected without parental consent, please contact us, and we will take measures to delete the relevant information and comply with regulatory requirements.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy. Significant updates will be announced through in-app notifications or clearly marked on this page before taking effect. Continued use of the App constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
13. Disputes and Applicable Law
The arrangements in this clause regarding applicable law and dispute resolution are intended to balance compliance needs for us (located in mainland China) and for overseas users. The specific rules are as follows:
1) If you are a user within the People's Republic of China, the interpretation and application of this policy shall be governed by the laws of the People's Republic of China.
2) If you are a user outside the People's Republic of China, this policy does not deprive you of any rights you may have under mandatory local consumer protection laws. Without violating mandatory local laws, both parties shall first attempt to resolve disputes through friendly negotiation; if negotiation fails, unless otherwise mandatorily required by the laws of your region, you agree to submit disputes to the Singapore International Arbitration Centre (SIAC) for arbitration in English in accordance with its arbitration rules, with Singapore as the seat of arbitration.
3) For individual small claims not suitable for arbitration, you may still bring proceedings in a court with jurisdiction in your place of residence, and this clause does not limit your exercise of that right.
This clause also does not affect the priority protection of users under any applicable mandatory legal provisions (such as consumer protection laws).
